Here’s a thought which I took away from Dr. Michael Beckwith’s talk at a conference I was at recently. He said, “Belief is a placeholder for what you know.” This of course made sense to me. But it’s been lurking in my mind these past few days.

Here’s my thought process. We have a belief, which we practice. We may even have an affirmation to affirm that belief over and over. We practice it enough and we get an “a-ha” moment—insight. Then, we have knowingness. What has held me in this inner discussion is Trust. In order for us to know something, we must first trust it to be so. How and when does this Trust move into form?

I think a lot about how we shift energy; how we move from one energetic stance to another. I teach people how to use visualization and energy tools as a way to work with energy as they move through change. The other day, however, when I was talking with a client, and giving her a homework assignment, I said, “Now you need to go out into the world and move into action, in order for your energy really to shift.”

Just what is it about shifting our energy that at times requires our deep inner attention and, other times, our being in action?

We all face change day in and day out. Sometimes the change is small and we glide right on through it, and other times...well not so much! But even when change is good and we are seemingly on board, resistance can rear its ugly little head; and then we are often in for a bumpy ride.

Working with people, like I do, who are focused on change, I see resistance pop up in many forms. Sometimes it can be plain as day and other times it is so well disguised that it can trick you into believing its really got your back. Sometimes it can be evident in what people say, and other times it is held in the body’s energy—as if a wall has been put up that nobody will ever cross.

I saw this video quite a while ago of Marianne Williamson talking about how change can come from a small group of people...ENOUGH people. It's entitled,“Are You Part of the 11%?” Here, she is saying 11% of the population can make great change. Now I'm not sure if that’s an exact figure, but I get the idea.

It’s hard not to notice that we are going through a shift. And whether you look at it as a shift in consciousness, social change or even economic transformation—or all of the above—all of us, including the planet herself, are going through something phenomenal. And what happens globally affects us personally...and vice versa.

I have to say, when I think about the word curiosity, the phrase “Curiosity killed the cat” comes to mind. I sure wish it didn’t! Putting my being a cat lover aside...I realize that this phrase runs deep within me. Sometimes I curb my curiosity or just find it lacking at times. And yes, I wonder why?!

When I do find myself in those moments, when things pass me by and/or I don’t get curious, I usually find that I am missing an opportunity. I miss a chance to learn something or grow in a way that will support me. However, what I mostly find is that I am missing a directional sign post, which can support me in meeting up with what I am creating.

I jotted this down on a scrap of paper recently: Curiosity is a reminder to our Selves where we put what we created! I’m not sure if I read this or had this ingenious thought on my own...but I like it! As we create things in our lives—manifest things—it is best to decide what we want, and to act as if those things are already here. If we can hold that energy or vibration of “it's here now, I know it,” then our curiosity is a way to go on the treasure hunt to find it.
