2010: An “energetic” walk down memory lane

Friday, December 31st, 2010

I hope you will indulge me a moment as I take a stroll down memory lane and look at the past year. It feels a bit therapeutic to honor what has been, and recognize what’s come to pass.

It’s been a big year.

As 2010 rolled into place my thoughts were on “responsibility.” Both personally and collectively I felt the energy asking us to really “step up” and own who were were. No more were we able to hide behind our masks…or someone else.

This was my personal work and also what I saw happening with those who were consciously deciding to work with the energy and take a leap of faith into what was calling them forward.

Many of us were coming off of a rocky 2009, and a little weary of what else we were being asked to do. But January seemed to bring a new level of energy to the task, and we stepped up.

We circled back around and shed layer upon layer of old patterns that we just couldn’t take into the year. We were becoming responsible for who we were – owning all the parts of us – so we could be present with others.

This was a timely task, as February shook Gaia through and through. The devastating earthquakes woke up an even deeper layer of our humanity, and a call to support the collective whole.

March held an energy of slowness to some degree, and an energy of deep planning for what we were creating and needing to birth in the spring.

And that spring energy was powerful.

April brought more global pain and the need to take a hard look at what we were doing to Gaia with the oil spill. It was a balancing act to stay engaged with the world and not go into fear…a balance we still need to hold.

And when May rolled in, well… it was energetically explosive!

The energetic “encouragement” in May was to engage with the present energy and say “Yes!” Oddly, it was the first month in the year where a real shift in the energy could be felt toward cohesion or ease…despite the fact that globally it still seemed like we were going to hell in a hand basket.

Summer didn’t slow down. Energetically there was a lot going on. So if you spent the summer engaged in your healing process as you moved through your world, you were in good company.

June took us on a ride of change. There was a big clearing out of old patterns and emotions, particularly about the time of the Solstice. There were some celestial events that rocked us: a lunar eclipse and the Grand Cross. And, with those came a deepening of our sense of Self. Once the dust settled, the energy brought on a feeling of expansion…ahhh!

In July we stepped through a doorway it seemed. And on the other side was an energetic awareness that shifted reality for many. I know for myself, I had a sense of more calm and more trust. I was learning a new way of Being.

August came in with a bang and put a lot of us to work, getting down to the core of what we were here for. The energy kept taking us deeper and deeper into our Truth…there was no escaping it!

That door we stepped across a few months earlier, and all that energy we were working with in the summer, sent many of us reeling in September as things began to really integrate. It was like we were squeezed and re-formed into something new. That was the month of weird energy symptoms like headaches and dizziness. We were getting used to all this “new” energy and how we needed to work with it on the physical level.

October and November brought swift energetic changes, and a learning on the physical level as to how to manage higher vibrations that held more light. We were getting another upgrade that had to move into the nervous system…and quick! Yet, things seemed manageable since the summer months and whatever change took place there.

And alas, December. We had Mercury in retrograde, a lunar eclipse and the Solstice all affecting us energetically. These astrological events took many of us again on a ride along that spiral path back to what needed attention. This last month of 2010 held an odd urgency to heal what, again, can not come with us as we step into the new year.

The energy has been powerful. It is powerful. It needs to be. It is pushing some, and propelling others forward on a journey of ascension and spiritual evolution.

And, 2011 promises to be quite a ride I am sure. But the Universe always prepares us. I think that from an energetic perspective we are indeed in good hands as we cross into the new year.

Sure, there may be bumps along the path, lessons to be learned and even deeper layers of our heart to be opened. But, the pathway has indeed been expanded!

Wishing you all a joyful and expansive New Year!

2010: The Year of Responsibility

Tuesday, January 5th, 2010

We’ve turned the corner now into the New Year. For some this comes with resolutions or intentions of growth and change. Resolutions or no, you can bet that 2010 will bring new opportunities to deepen your relationship with responsibility.

It seems to me that 2010 is the year of responsibility. Personal responsibility, that is, in accepting our creative abilities.

We seem to be waking up to the fact that we truly are the creators of our experience. And in recognizing this, we are also becoming aware of the responsibility that we have as we accept our role in our collective experience.

We’re stepping up to the plate so to speak. And with this we have the opportunity to become powerful visionaries.

It feels a bit like we are on a thrill ride toward the year 2012 and beyond. And whether you believe all the predictions, there is no doubt that things are changing out there—as well as within each and everyone of us.

We are experiencing an immense spiritual shift. Our collective awareness is changing. And all of us are learning how we are connected to this transformation.

Free will of course provides us with an ever-altering canvas to work with. Yet, I do believe there are some deep currents at work which guide us on an evolutionary path. And our spiritual evolution is one of now recognizing that we are waking up and taking responsibility for what we want the world to be.

Things seem to be speeding up. The time between our decisions and their outcomes is shorter and shorter, so we need to be clear on what we want. We’re really beginning to “get it” that that energy follows thought.

Thoughts count.

I’ll say it again, thoughts count. And knowing this, we have to become responsible for what we think, and therefor what we create.

So stop and listen to your thoughts. Are they really in line with what you want your world to be?

This is the year for us to make wise choices, to listen within. And as we feel the topsy-turvy world around us change in ways that may not always be comfortable, we can know that we are in the midst of a great change for which we are creating.

What we decide now, through the power of our collective choice, will become our reality…so think wisely!

Mind Map Your 2010: See the Big Picture for the New Year

Wednesday, December 30th, 2009

With the New Year soon upon us, its tempting to start making those resolutions. But really, those things never last.

What is important, however, is to create a road map for the new year.  And mind mapping is a fun and insightful way to lay out those deeper intentions you may have for 2010.

A mind map is a diagram with words and pictures to represent an idea. It’s a great way to tap into your creative brain as you begin to lay out thoughts associated with a certain topic.

It’s a bit like brainstorming, starting out with an idea and clarifying as you move out from the center to fine-tune, describe or explain in more and more detail.

Creating a mind map for 2010 can help you delve into those deeper intentions that you hold for your life. Sure you can add in that new car or job…but those specific “things” get placed on the page after the bigger picture ideas.

When you lay out all that you want to create for yourself in the New Year, you will begin to get a feel for your life. It really is a road map to what is important, and…what may need some healing attention along the way.

And, when you focus on this big picture, all the little things begin to fall into place.

Here’s how it works:

  1. Get a big sheet of paper or poster board. Keep it small enough that you can hang it up where you will see it.
  2. Have some colored pens or pencils to work with.
  3. Sit for a moment and tune in…your focus will be on what you intend for 2010. What do you want to create?
  4. Now, start in the middle. It’s great if you can start with a colorful image representing what this mind map is all about.
  5. Then, use words, pictures, thoughts throughout the map. Each area of the map is a theme. So start with one area in your life and move outward as you expand on more and more detail.
  6. Use key words and lines to make the association between ideas.
  7. Have fun, there really are no real rules. If you do want some rules, check out this page on mind maps.
  8. OK I lied, here is one “rule” I have:  highlight the important things. Where your eye is drawn to later is where your attention will be as you focus on this throughout the year.

Now…go for it!

When you are done, check out what you created. See where there may be areas on the map that are hard to read, feel crowded or feel incomplete. These are areas in your life that most likely need a bit of healing attention. (Funny how we do that huh?!)

Mind mapping is a great tool to use for personal growth…and fun to do. Give it a whirl!

Here’s to an amazing 2010…your vision counts!
