Did the Universe hit the pause button?

January 21st, 2010

Life on planet Earth is rocky right now.

We are collectively grieving what is happening around us — with so many feeling the pain of the earthquake in Haiti and the suffering there.

There is such rapid change happening on so many levels that it has been hard to not feel out of control.

We feel this evolutionary change as our consciousness shifts, but so too does the planet. And when the Earth ripped apart, I think we hit a point where we needed a time out to manage the magnitude of that event, as well as all the other change that we are experiencing, both in and out of our conscious awareness.

The feeling I have, on an energetic level, is that a big giant pause button has been pushed, and we are being asked to stop and sit with what is right now. I’ve been describing it as a big pregnant pause, I guess in the hopes that when the pause button is released, we will all be birthed into something new.

Wanting to skip this and get beyond the suffering is a natural response. After all, this hurts. But keeping our hearts open now, when we are faced with such pain and stillness, is the way out.

So if you are feeling this slow down right now, this pause, you are not alone. I think the Universe hit the pause button to protect us — a mandatory slow down of sorts.

We have all been shaken up on some level.

With crisis comes a wake up call. And in this moment, I believe we are being asked to go within and find those places which hold us back from being fully present and fully able to step into a more expanded place with more light. It is time to let go of those things we know we can’t take with us as we embrace higher states of being and create a world full of compassion and support for all who need it.

So feel the pause.

Stop and let go of what you can, in order to get down to what is real. And then send that love and light to those in need.

Mercury, eclipse, new moon: January 15 is a banner day!

January 13th, 2010

I admit it, I usually only follow astrology when things feel hard or I get stuck. And since the beginning of 2010, things have been, well, at a bit of a standstill!

And then I learned that Mercury went retrograde around the end of 2009. We all hear about this mysterious Mercury retrograde event. It happens 3 times a year, and at times, is more of a bother than others.

Whenever Mercury is in retrograde we get to do a little life review. It can be like hitting the re-set button. The weeks that Mercury seemingly goes backwards, we have the chance to re-think and re-evaluate some aspect of our lives.

Astrology writings can often have a negative take on Mercury retrograde, but truthfully, we need them. We need the time to slow down or even stop, catch our breath and take a second look. We need to do a little house cleaning before moving on.

Maybe that’s why this Mercury retrograde felt so intense to me. We are getting ready to move forward in a big way, so anything that needed a bit of house cleaning got it!

Or, maybe it was because Mars was also in retrograde. Again, I am no astrology expert, but I’m no dummy. When 2 planets are taking us back through old stuff you gotta know there’s going to be trouble!

It does get better soon…. Yes, Mercury will go direct on January 15th, so hopefully this pause and process work will lighten up. With it, however, are a few other astrological events that will affect us.

With Mercury going direct, is an eclipse. Eclipses have a way of unmasking things and getting things moving. Hooray for eclipses!

And, there is a New Moon which is also about new beginnings. The New Moon is a great time to focus on rejuvenation and growing one’s energy.

The full combination of all these events?

I’m guessing that January 15th will be a banner day!

Mercury turning direct on the day of the eclipse and new moon signals a time where we can give birth to ideas that have been circulating about, as we have been in pause the last few weeks.

And if you don’t know exactly what that is, well just stay open to what is emerging. Things are unfolding all around us. Be patient as things move back into the flow, but be ready…the Universe loves action.

If you’ve been cleaning house and are itching to get moving, your time is near!

2010: The Year of Responsibility

January 5th, 2010

We’ve turned the corner now into the New Year. For some this comes with resolutions or intentions of growth and change. Resolutions or no, you can bet that 2010 will bring new opportunities to deepen your relationship with responsibility.

It seems to me that 2010 is the year of responsibility. Personal responsibility, that is, in accepting our creative abilities.

We seem to be waking up to the fact that we truly are the creators of our experience. And in recognizing this, we are also becoming aware of the responsibility that we have as we accept our role in our collective experience.

We’re stepping up to the plate so to speak. And with this we have the opportunity to become powerful visionaries.

It feels a bit like we are on a thrill ride toward the year 2012 and beyond. And whether you believe all the predictions, there is no doubt that things are changing out there—as well as within each and everyone of us.

We are experiencing an immense spiritual shift. Our collective awareness is changing. And all of us are learning how we are connected to this transformation.

Free will of course provides us with an ever-altering canvas to work with. Yet, I do believe there are some deep currents at work which guide us on an evolutionary path. And our spiritual evolution is one of now recognizing that we are waking up and taking responsibility for what we want the world to be.

Things seem to be speeding up. The time between our decisions and their outcomes is shorter and shorter, so we need to be clear on what we want. We’re really beginning to “get it” that that energy follows thought.

Thoughts count.

I’ll say it again, thoughts count. And knowing this, we have to become responsible for what we think, and therefor what we create.

So stop and listen to your thoughts. Are they really in line with what you want your world to be?

This is the year for us to make wise choices, to listen within. And as we feel the topsy-turvy world around us change in ways that may not always be comfortable, we can know that we are in the midst of a great change for which we are creating.

What we decide now, through the power of our collective choice, will become our reality…so think wisely!
