I have to say, when I think about the word curiosity, the phrase “Curiosity killed the cat” comes to mind. I sure wish it didn’t! Putting my being a cat lover aside…I realize that this phrase runs deep within me. Sometimes I curb my curiosity or just find it lacking at times. And yes, I wonder why?!
When I do find myself in those moments, when things pass me by and/or I don’t get curious, I usually find that I am missing an opportunity. I miss a chance to learn something or grow in a way that will support me. However, what I mostly find is that I am missing a directional sign post, which can support me in meeting up with what I am creating.
I jotted this down on a scrap of paper recently: Curiosity is a reminder to our Selves where we put what we created! I’m not sure if I read this or had this ingenious thought on my own…but I like it! As we create things in our lives—manifest things—it is best to decide what we want, and to act as if those things are already here. If we can hold that energy or vibration of “it’s here now, I know it,” then our curiosity is a way to go on the treasure hunt to find it.
So, what makes us curious?
Curiosity takes fire and passion. We need that spark of interest to notice the things that capture our attention and thus move us from where we are to our next step. We also need to be connected to others, which requires that fire energy; we need to be engaged in who or what we are curious about. But, the water element must also be present. We need to be willing to go into the flow or even the depths of where our curious mind takes us.
This idea of going on a treasure hunt really speaks to the kid in me. I mean what kid wouldn’t be excited about heading off to find what’s on the list or the big X on the map? And if I put some of the mundane things that I do, or what feels hard to me, in this context, it becomes playful. I begin to want to be curious. Where will my curiosity take me and what will I find? What will I find out by really engaging in a conversation and asking questions to dig deeper, to uncover passion and potential?
Lately I’ve been waking up and saying, “OK I’m ready to play.” I wonder…what will I find today as I set my intention on uncovering where I put my latest goal? I’m making the conscious choice to be more and more curious because, we never know where we may have put our creations! We never know who may hold the key to our next “aha” moment!
So what are you curious about today? Where will that take you? Are you holding that passion and willingness to dive into something? Play with this. See what happens if you spend some time today letting your curiosity show you where you put your greatest intention!

Thanks Suzanne
Crazy times here…I upgraded and then it wiped out my header graphic and sidebar “stuff!” So, I’ve been in repair mode this afternoon! I guess I was a bit too curious there, should have left this one alone
A work in progress I guess. Thanks for the feedback-glad it works!
Stacy, you did a great job of learning about something in today’s blogging workshop and then implemented it right away. I really like it. Now the posts are still engaging and all on one page.
