This Friday, March 20, 2009 is the Spring (Vernal) Equinox. Officially it’s at 4:44am PST (11:44UT). Living on the West Coast I’m probably not going to get up and celebrate the exact moment of the Equinox, but I will mark the day; as it is a significant day in my book!
There are four Nature holidays (Spring and Fall Equinox and Winter and Summer Solstice) which have clear energetic distinctions to them and are linked to processes in Nature that are important to acknowledge. The Spring Equinox is a very powerful time for creation. This year in particular, with all the change and growth that we and this planet are going through, it feels especially potent.
For me, Spring Equinox is a time to mark moving from intention into action. It’s a time where we move our ideas from template form into a denser form to then manifested from. Working with the cycles of the season is so important. Staying in balance with the energy of the Nature helps us to work smarter not harder!
The Winter has been a time of deep contemplation. What have you been planning for yourself? What intentions have you brought to light that will indeed serve you and others in your life? Well, now those intentions can begin to be moved into action so they may become more real in your every day life. No longer are they held as energy in your field, gestating. They now shift into what I see as the nature spirit level—the level where energy can manifest and resources can be channeled to you in support.
So often we think to send our intentions and wishes up to the Heavens as we try to create. But in fact they must also move down into the Earth, the Nature Kingdom and the magnetic energy that Earth holds. For there too is an amazing energy that can provide for us on our path. (A plant needs it’s root system supported just as much as it needs sunlight to thrive.)
I’ve felt myself trying to rush the Equinox in the past few days. And I realize I must be patient. I’ve been wanting to see action so much that I’ve been in that place of trying and pushing. So this blog is as much of a reminder for myself as for you who are reading, to hold on just a bit and go with the flow of Nature!
Let this Spring Equinox day be a day to stay in touch with the energy of our truest intentions. Let yourself notice the energy and how you are feeling as you begin to shift your own place of holding those intentions for yourself. As we move along the cycle of Nature toward Summer, begin to experience how things unfold—how you begin to see those energies manifest and come into form.
So send a little acknowledgment to Mother Nature and her wisdom. Connect to the magnetic energy and all that you can attract through her. And as you secure those roots, also reach for the sky. Feel that energy that is encouraging you to grow, to act, to change. And as you do, know that you have Mother Nature watching your back!
