Over the past few weeks I’ve found myself scurrying into past memories and sensations to try to heal old patterns and places within, all in the hope of uncovering the core or root of an energy I am aware of now. I’ve not had much luck with this technique! What I hear over and over in my head is that, to heal, we must be in the present moment-looking forward.
The p.s. on that inner guidance is, that trying to get back to a place where we think this old energy or old wound may live, doesn’t work. It’s impossible for us to get back to something that is no longer there. We may think that this pain or discomfort is old; and that to heal, we must re-connect with it to understand it. But the energy isn’t old. The pain we feel is our holding onto something in present time that no longer serves us. What we can do is stay present and allow the healing energy in, as we make new choices with each step toward our future.
I’ve been thinking about this a lot over the last few weeks because for me, in the past, there has been a link to connecting to past experiences for healing. When I sit in my healing space it certainly feels like these old energies pop up and rear their ugly little heads, begging me to go back and clear them at their creation point. But truthfully when I look at this energy it’s a current trigger that’s there which is causing problems for me now. Going to the past and finding the wound to heal doesn’t work. It’s about healing the trigger point in the here and now -the present energy which “flipped the switch” to panic or fear and then creating new reference points based on this healing.
This may sound like just semantics (when it comes to vibrational work is there any such thing as past or present), but I think our biology tends to beg us to think linearly. Our minds see the timeline and we think if we go to a point in our history to heal, we get the root of the problem. In the past this may have been the way to heal. I know it has worked for me many times; that’s why I try to keep trying to do it to no avail. But there is something deeper here. What I have come to understand is that our consciousness and energetic process has changed. And I believe it’s changed enough to re-look at how we target our healing process.
What I mean by this is that many of us have moved energetically to a new place, a new vibration. This vibration is so different than where we have been, that it is really impossible to go back. When we try, it’s like we are looking at something but have no way to touch it. We’re in another world so to speak.
In this new world we may still recognize the old boogie-man that haunt us, but to heal it we must be in the here and now. And instead of looking for the old energy to release, we need to be looking at what is the current trigger that set us off, sending us into a pattern that is no longer useful. It may be an old pattern – but it’s quite alive and kicking! And, it must be dealt with in its present day form and in a way that matches the vibrational stance it now holds. And most importantly new internal reference points need to come in to keep us from trying to call back this energy that is haunting us from a place we can no longer reach.
If you don’t quite feel like you have arrived into the “new world” don’t worry, you will soon. But if you are finding yourself trying to access old information in ways that no longer work, it may be time to really look at if you can access that. And if the answer is no, focus on the “now.” Focus on what this energy looks like now-not what it has looked like in the past. How do you feel now and how is it holding you back from taking the necessary steps into the future.
I’ll be leading a workshop starting soon on 30 days of conscious intent, where we will focus on just this. Finding a core “issues,” and then looking at the energy behind it and how it manifest in it’s present day vibration. Still healing the root of the problem, yet connecting to it in the here and now.
If you can’t make the class, try this in your own healing process. The healing energy in this new place is very strong and swift. Connect to it and you will see. If you are used to heading back to the old to try to heal, then shift your attention to working with your energy only in it’s current vibrational stance, and see how it feels:
- • Sit and ask to connect to your healing energy and watch and notice what you become aware of.
- • Follow it as you can but don’t direct it; consider for a moment that it has a vast intelligence to it. Your direction will get in the way!
- • Ask that the energy, block or resistance be supported in a way that targets it’s current vibration—not necessarily what you have been familiar with in the past.
- • Consciously stay focused on the now and how this healing can support you in what you are creating (not what has been).
- • Let this healing energy move through you and take care of the connections to other times and other places where there may be an energetic link to what you feel now.
- • Stay with it in present time and the past will heal on its own accord.
- • Look forward not backward.
- • Vow to take a step that moves you into greater fullness with this.
- • Create a new way to reference this information within…can you call up images or sensations that point you toward your healing that you can use when you feel those old triggers?
Gives this a try and let me know how it works for you!

About Stacy

Right. And I agree too!
We certainly hold energy, and that can accumulate over time. And it can dissipate over time if not fed. And, our mind definitely interprets our past experiences with our present experience. That’s how our biology is meant to behave.
The vibrational information in the energy from a rejection say from when we were 5 to the vibrational information in the trigger we have today is very different. What I am amazed to be seeing more and more now, and what I tried to express here
, is that in the recent past even it was easier to grab a-hold of that older information. I guess I was still close enough in vibration to “it” to access it and heal at that energetic point. At least start that dissipation process or even a full on WHOOSH of healing!
Now I am feeling that that older vibrational information isn’t accessible. My best way to describe that is like its saying, “don’t bother-go here instead and I’ll leave when you do that!” It’s still held in the body, but the information/vibration that must be addresses is higher than it. It’s like trying to access it to unlock it from a glass window. What is working is to unlock the energy by meeting it at its higher vibration and then the house of cards tumble and release is there….and its quick when we work at this level.
I know I may not be expressing well here. I can feel the pull of the old words don’t do it!
But thanks for the response and the words of wisdom-you are right on!
Hello!
I agree with you Stacy, that looking back and connecting with past experiences in order to try to heal the present (if we’re in higher energy vibrations) isn’t an approach that works, although the past is definitely linked to our experience of the present.
You explain ” …it’s a current trigger that’s there which is causing problems for me now. Going to the past and finding the wound to heal doesn’t work. It’s about healing the trigger point in the here and now -the present energy which “flipped the switch” to panic or fear and then creating new reference points based on this healing.” And I agree with this, with the exception that although we are at higher vibrations today, I maintain we hold on to some lower-vibration “stuff” too as follows, but that we can stay in the present and start to dissipate this energy held from the past (i.e. no going backwards necessary!)
The way I view it is that an event happens (e.g. a friend cancels a dinner date). If that event triggers an emotional/mental/physical response in our body (which most do based on our beliefs and personality) – in this case it could trigger emotions, thoughts and physical pain associated with your belief that you are being “rejected”, we can either a) hold the energy of it, or b) release it. The latter (release) requires constant attention and practice to do, so most times we do a) hold it.
Holding of the energy (from “rejection”) starts a slow build up of very dense (slow moving) energy in a particular spot in the body. As similar events occur (e.g. other events that feel like rejection), more energy is collected and we feed the spot where the energy associated with this “rejection” is held. Usually this slow, dense energy is held in the same spot – like the back of the head, the belly (you need to figure out these spots), which is the cause of so much of our dis-ease. Making this dense, slower energy go away can actually cure people of migraines, joint pains, etc. But I’m digressing, sorry.
Your blog points out that the way to heal is to stay present and allow the healing energy in. I agree and translate this to mean we stay in the present, be attentive to what is happening in our bodies as events happen, and “experience and release” versus “experience and hold” the energy. In doing so we are not “feeding” the older, denser energy block that is craving “food”, and — here’s the key — the affect is that it (the older, staler, denser, slower energy) starts to dissipate.
So, focusing on the present (and consciously not holding onto energy associated with the experience of a given trigger event), ultimately has the affect of healing the body of its older energy blockages. As older stale (slow) energy dissipates we are free to vibrate at even higher frequencies…. starting to return to the healthier vibration of an unblocked child. And as more of us remove our older energies and vibrate at higher frequencies our collective higher vibration speeds up the Universe, for change to happen…
Not sure if this made sense to anyone but me, but I wanted to ramble for a bit (this was my “experience and release” for an event at work that just happened!)
Thanks for making me think…
