Today is a big day, no matter how you look at it. We have a new President (yeah) and there’s a feeling of hope amongst change. I watched the inauguration this morning, something I haven’t been compelled to do in many years. It’s a good day…one to remember as we move forward.
Service of course is a big topic these days, as is pledging to support the change we are going through. We see this change as our government changes, our financial world changes and our planet changes. We also can feel change as we move from one energetic stance to another.
I love the poem that Elizabeth Alexander wrote and read today. I know I don’t have this verbatim, but I especially liked the part about creating a love that casts a widening pool of light and walking forward into that light.
This, to me, is a really beautiful vision and one that resonates with what I feel is happening energetically. Even though we are walking in times that are hard, we are walking into more light. In fact, more and more of us are being ushered into this light, this higher vibration each and every day. We are moving from a consciousness of individuals looking to be saved, to our group humanity working together for the good of all.
It’s interesting to me that the inauguration took place during the mercury retrograde. Not to get too astrological on you, but this is a time of revisiting and completing, so we can move forward in right energy. And today, there was such a great opportunity to look back and see where we’ve healed, what still needs our attention, and where we need to go from here. I read something that said that 2009′s mercury retrograde time frames will have a major impact in events which can shift humanity. Sounds good to me! Clearly we need that kind of change.
This isn’t just some lofty energy-thing either. It’s grounded. For change to happen we need to be grounded. Yet, we also need to be aware of what lies beneath our day-to-day vision: our Spirit. Just as with an energetic grid—each connection stabilizes and strengthens the grid’s connections—each and every one of us is needed for social change to take place. We each have a part. Each of us holding our small little section stabilizes the whole, not to mention makes the load easier to manage. Interestingly thought, there’s a sense of quiet that I feel with this as we integrate the energetic and “real-world” change. No big fanfare is needed; just go out and do it. That’s the energetic shift I have been talking about. It’s about ownership. As Nike says, “Just do it!”
I watched the events of the day today from both a place of awe and pride that we have chosen to step up, and also from my Spirit which was validated in the messages that I heard. The ideas of change, inclusion, ownership were all present in what was said. It really felt as though two worlds were infusing—the energy of this change that we are moving into merged with reality just a little bit more. Everyday people are being inspired to commit and pledge their support to change. That’s pretty incredible!
So with that said, I encourage you to ask yourself where you are willing to pledge your support to this change. Where are you energetically drawn to be of service? Take that step, even if it’s a small one, its ok. Just take the step!
Let me know your plans!

Thanks for that. It’s a great quote!
Taking some lines from Toa Te Ching which I feel guide us in this direction…
“See the world as your self.
Have faith in the way things are.
Love the world as your self;
then you can care for all things.”—Lao Tsu (chapter 13) S. Mitchell translation
