In my office there are Angel Cards, cards that you can pick with inspirational words. One of those cards reads “Integrity.” I love this card and what it reminds me of. It reminds me to be in integrity not only with how I chose to act, but even more importantly with the energy that I hold.
I equate integrity with self love, and the loss of integrity with betrayal. That may seem like a bit of a stretch, but when we honor our true self (self love) we are in integrity with ourselves. And, when we’re not in integrity, we are betraying ourselves in some way.
The word betrayal can have a real sting to it. But if we sit with this and really begin to look at the energy of our betrayals (to self and others), integrity is at the core. If we begin to let go of all the betrayal energy, be it guilt or resentment that we hold from when we have betrayed others, we usually find an incident of not acting from a place of integrity. And, when we ask to let go of the hurt or anger that we hold from others betraying us, we gather back our own energy to hold within. It brings us back to our true self where we have the opportunity to operate from a place of energetic integrity.
There is of course a vibration to integrity. We can feel it in how we interact with ourselves and others. To lose our own integrity, or our true self, hurts us. It stops us from doing what we set out to do. It can side-track us with all the energy that comes with betrayal, so that we aren’t able to come back to center and honor ourselves.
We are a transmitter. We transmit the energy that we vibrate at. And this vibration is a force in all that we do and create. So to not be transmitting at the level of true energetic integrity can really hold us back. Even not being in the present moment can be a betrayal to our energetic integrity. It pulls us out of where we need to fully be.
I’ve started asking myself this simple question from time to time, “Am I in energetic integrity right now?” It’s easy to feel the answer. When the answer is no, I try to stop, come back to center and my energetic stance of honoring myself.
This seemingly simple question has brought me to very deep levels of awareness, and the times I’ve allowed my integrity to be betrayed. I’ve begun to see that whenever we hold ourselves back, we betray ourselves and keep ourselves from energetic integrity. This loss, in turn, limits what we do and our potential. When we chose to not allow or receive the gifts the Universe tries to drop before us, we betray our energetic integrity by not giving ourselves the tools and resources we need to shine. No matter what the result is of not being in energetic integrity, it pulls us off course from our true core intent.
We each have a core intention for our lives. Mine is to model right energy and to expand the pathway for others to join me on, by means of sharing my vibrational information. Veering off that pathway leads me away from energetic integrity. So asking this question has become very important and a true compass for me.
As we move into the winter, the darkness, and soon the Solstice, it’s a natural time to go within and do our inner work. Like Inanna, we go through our own process of letting go, moving into the underworld and then finding ourselves and our inner spark of light as we re-emerge. And now, more than ever, I feel that we each have an opportunity to deeply connect to our own true core – our deepest spark of life. Now is the time to act: let go, recreate and let our light shine in full energetic integrity.
So my question to you is, “Where are you betraying your own integrity, your true self?” If you let yourself answer that, you will be amazed at the depth you can go toward healing.
